Interesting interesting interesting ...
The center of the camera must have some set exact "offset" distance (computed after correcting the sideways slanted projection) to determine the exact location where the tip of the cartridge contacts the paper. There must also be a zoom on that camera too! :-) I took a PDF version and zoomed, zoomed zoomed in on the PDF. I noticed that those dots are exact small squares !!!
This explains why you can be "on the edge of the paper" with the tip (sometimes) but the camera is "off the paper" ... and the mark is not recorded. But, you have to try to do that, or hold the pen "Just right" for that situation.
I would guess if you "marked over" some part of the paper enough and hard enough to cover all surrounding dot-patterns, then you could reach a state where the pen would stop transferring marks to the digital page due to not being able to track where you're at on the page ...
Interesting technology.
Could you "double print" a form or template on your dot patters from the Beta NeoPDF windows app ? ... and would the pen be able to view surrounding dot patterns around you form? Of course, it would be interesting if you could also allow a form to be "Overlayed" onto the Neo Notes app ... so that the digital form matches the double printed paper form. This would be super handy for Nurses (or any other field ) where templates forms have to be filled out. If Neo Notes could allow "Overlays" and instructions for how to "double print" custom papers - Your business could surpass LiveScribe ... and you could have new markets of Companies ...
Just thinking ahead for the future of this technology ...
Uhmmm .... Appologies for leaving the main topic of this thread ... "Recommended Inks" ...
