Hi NeoLab,

 

I noticed that it is not possible to do an Evernote sync very often. When I sync NeoNote with Evernote it goes fine. But when I press the sync button again within 1 or 2 minutes it doesn't sync.

The situation I did this is as follows:

I noticed that a note from my (hardcopy) notebook was not in Evernote.

I did a sync from NeoNote to Evernote.

Then I noticed that the note also wasn't in NeoNote, so I did a sync between the pen and NeoNote. That went fine.

NeoNote pointed out that the last time I did an Evernote sync was 2 minutes ago. Once I pressed the sync Evernote button, it looked like there was a sync process going on.

NeoNote stated afterwards that the last time it was synced with Evernote was 2 minutes ago and noting was synced with Evernote.

 

Could you please let us know how this process is working?

 

Furhter more is it possible that NeoNote does an automated sync with EverNote (when connected to a wifi network) once something was changed in NeoNote. That way EverNote is always in sync.

Currently the Evernote is synced by an 'x' amount of time. I'll report your issue regarding Evernote sync.

 

Is anyone else having this Evernote syncing problem??

With the new version (1.1.3) of NeoNote the Evernote sync has become more unstable.

What?! Could you provide some more information? What are you seeing? or experiencing?

Of course.

 

I go to the menu of NeoNote. Below in the screen it has the evernote icon and it say when is was synced for the last time.

Pressing the Evernote button, it says start syncing, Loading all pages, all pages are synced and finaly last sync: x hours ago.

 

Somehow it doesn't sync the pages while it is clear (compare the NeoNote with EverNote) that the last page was not synced with EverNote.

try again with 3G/4G instead of wifi mode (there could be some problems with network)

keep opening menu drawer & check what status bar says if it is synced correctly, you should see xx page is synced.

(could take 1~few minutes to see this message depending on network)

 

- write one note and check above again. app should automatically detect modified page and will try to sync the page.

- from version 1.1.3, the page name on evernote is changed to "page x" instead of "note notes (xxx) page 000x"

 

if it is still not work. there could be some problem with your evernote authentication token.

In the setting, switch off the evernote and switch on again to login to evernote.

the app will automatically load all your pages and try to sync.

 

do not press the evernote button in the bottom of drawer.

it is for manual sync but this is buggy and hope it will be fixed in next update.

Hi Namssan,

 

I tried above via the 3/4G network. I made a note and synced it with NeoNote, this goes as usual and works fine.

 

After a short while NeoNote states "All Pages are Synced !!" and it states that the last sync was 13 minutes ago, while the note was taken about 2 minutes ago...

When I sync Evernote no changes are visible.

 

I did switch off/on Evernote Sync.

 

I looks like the last changes are not noticed correctly as it behaves the same on a wifi network as on a 3/4G network.

Forgot to say I do see the new page title in Evernote, looks nice.

that is strange.. it never happened to me. if your last written page is not synced.

the most simple way would be to write again (just one stroke or even 1 dot) on the page and let the app do the job again.

since this is network I understand sometime automatic sync can fail.  It would be nice in future update, user can select individual page and manually sync with evernote.

That's just what I did, just wrote "test" on the page. But nothing happened.

 

As I wrote this comment I just placed an exclamation mark and that synced the page incl the "test". But the exclamation mark was not synced.

 

It looks like NeoNote starts a sync with Evernote once the N2 pen was synced but it doesn't take the latest change in the sync to Evernote....

From my experiences, app seems to start auto sync every 1 minute interval.

this mean that it can take maximum 1 minute to start syncing after you made change on the page.

please observe if this is also happening to you.

write some strokes on page and go back to menu drawer and see what status bar say.

it should say "syncing....note book xxx"... and when it succeed ..."synced page xxx".. and all pages are synced or when there is no more pages to sync in the queue it says "All pages are synced!"

It does sync automatically, but as I wrote it doesn't sync everything. The next minute it start the sync process again but nothing is synced anymore at that moment as NeoNote thinks everything is in sync.

 

I expect that the process goes something like:

Interval time has passed

Look for changes

Sync changes with Evernote (here it probably goes wrong, as not all changes are taking in account)

Display which page has been synced

Mark changes as being synced

Wait interval time

Start procedure again. 

 

As everything is marked as being synced it will not be synced anymore.

How many notebooks do you have? and how many pages have you created in total?

Can you confirm when you change notebook title in the app. the title in evernote also change?

I've two notebooks, 1 pocket note and 1 ring note. When I change the notebook name in NeoNote then it is also changed in Evernote

Surprising that the notebook title is chaged directly, but the note I made 1 minute before in the notebook was not synced. I had to do the workaround.

 

The workaround is to place a small marker, like a dot or exclamation mark. So NeoNote will sync again

let me confirm again

 

after you made change on the page (add a dot or exclamation mark)

 

immediately go to menu drawer

 

(1) can you see that status bar say "sycing [notebook name] "?

 

(2) in next few minutes, can you see "synced: neo notes page xx" ?

 

(3) in next few minutes, can you see "All pages are synced" ?

 

If you do not see (1),  that means app failed to add your modified page to the syncing queue

If you see (1) but do not see (2) 

app tried several times to sync your page but somehow failed to sync with evernote. (probably due to network problem or other reasons)

(3) means that the queue is empty. so app thinks she has don all the jobs.

Hi Namssan,

All 3 steps are happening, so those steps in general are ok. I think it's more in the detail. As I experience it, see previous posts, not everything is placed in the queue.

I there a dev mode on the neonote app, so I can reproduce the issue and sent you the logfiles?
