Perhaps I'm being impatient awaiting NeoLAB support getting back to me. I've followed their firmware update instructions but am now unable to connect to my phone app. I therefore can't see any new notes, nor my pen's battery percentage :(.

I note that my phone can see my pen's Bluetooth presence (from stock Bluetooth settings). In the Neo app (Android) auto connection fails. When attempting a manual connection I can see my pen's MAC address on a scan, but it fails to connect when hitting Register.

I'm therefore thinking that one approach might be a complete uninstall of the Neo app, followed by a reinstall. Where are the data for my previous notes - with the phone's app or in the pen? If I delete the app and reinstall will I lose all my notes to date?

Thanks for anyone responding. I appear to be an unlucky early adopter. I worked through a year or so of Livescribe issues, then two years waiting for their Android app before jumping ship. My N2 *was* better, when it was working!

Sorry for the late response but I'm afraid that if you do reinstall the app you do loose your previously synched notes.  The N2 frees up storage space once the pen synchs to your app,   You will have anything you have written post synch still on your pen.
